- Back Pain
- Neck Pain
- Injury Management
- Neurological Disorders
- Injury Prevention
- Post-Surgery Recovery
- Postural Issues
- Repetitive Strain Injuries
- Pain Management
- Rehabilitation
The first meeting with Christine Gosse, Registered Physiotherapist, is booked as a one-hour Initial Assessment. This session will involve a discussion of the history of your injury or condition, a thorough physical examination, physiotherapy treatment, education, and a home exercise prescription.
Before your consult with Christine, there are some forms you will need to fill out, and they should only take a few minutes. Remember, even if a past medical condition, surgery or illness doesn’t seem significant or related to your condition, please inform us of it anyway. Any and all of your health history will help us design a treatment approach that best suits your needs, and help heal you faster. Your information will be kept strictly confidential and will only be discussed within our interdisciplinary health team as we create the most effective treatment plan for you.
Christine will ask you about the history of your injury or condition and will ask you to describe movements and activities that hurt. She will also gather details about how the pain or other symptoms behave, your occupation, sports, and leisure activities, so that she may design your treatment plan to help return you to normal function in all areas of your life.
Christine’s physical examination will look at the following aspects of your body’s function:
- Posture
- Range of motion testing of the affected joints
- Strength testing of the affected muscles
- Reflexes and other neurological tests
- Special orthopedic tests
- Report of Findings
Christine is committed to not only improving your health, but empowering and educating you to be an active participant. After the physical examination, we will discuss the diagnosis of your physical issue. From there, the plan on how we will move forward to help alleviate your pain and return you to your previous level of function…or even better!… will be explained. In this meeting, we will discuss your health goals, answer any and all questions regarding treatment, and address your concerns. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Knowledge is an important component in leading a healthy lifestyle by helping you to make the best choices for your individual needs. We want to educate and empower you on this journey!
